It is known for its transportation hub, Paddington Station, which connects the area to other parts of London and the UK via trains, buses, and the London Underground. The area also features Paddington Basin, a canal-side development with shops, restaurants, and residential properties. The famous children’s book character, Paddington Bear, is named after this area as well.
